Being is the essence out of which all things evolve. This blog is an ongoing conversation of being in various facets and areas of life, including the personal and the professional from which relationships of all kinds are formed and teams built in all communities, virtual or real, at home, at work, in politics and at play.

Being Hoodwinked
Americans have been hoodwinked. We've moved from the Gold Standard to the Debt Standard, constantly purchasing products via a credit card, giving us the euphoric sense of ownership. But who benefits most from this Debt Standard and do we still believe the Billy Preston song that "nothing from nothing leaves nothing?" The real sinister element is that we're numbed into inaction by the sense of having something.

Halloooo there Judith! It's been awhile friend! Oh brother, did you nail this one on the head -that shiny little card that allows you to buy whatever you want without cash is this age's crack. People just gotta have it and many times it makes no sense, but hey, all we're interested in is how we feel NOW!
"you gotta have something if you wanna be with me..." thanks, I'll have that song in my head now all night long....
Welcome back, Judith!
Love this post! Love, love, love. "Numbed into inaction by the sense of having something" - a brilliant capture of the current social and economic disease this country currently possesses.
My husband's office mate purchased a television a few months back. When Casey asked him if he'd paid cash for it, his office mate replied, "I have the cash for it, but it's thirty six months no interest with a credit card, man. Why should I pay for it now when I don't have to?"
I fear for this country in moments like that.
Hope all is well with you!
Best,
Jessica
