Being Earth

This incredible image is earth as seen from space. Looking at it I immediately thought of Van Gogh's "Starry Night." It appears that Van Gogh's dreams were close to reality. He seemed to not only have an upward vision, but an outside one as well.

"For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream."

-- Vincent van Gogh

Love the swirls and energy of van Gogh. This picture does remind me of the movement and life of van Gogh's work. Thanks Judith.

It is my joy to share this, Kelly. What about those colors? And, yes "the movment and life of Van Gogh's work" indeed. My mind immediately went to Van Gogh and the genius that he was. I have read all of his published letters and many biographies of his life. How sad and incredibly inspiring his story is. I am in awe of him. But what about the universe? What about earth? Completely awesome and awe-inspiring!

It is nice to get a glimpse into a mind of a genius.

Indeed, Corrie, not to mention the genius of the formation and expansion of the universe.

This reminded me of Joe Satriani's album based on space and extraterrestrial life. Nice image! You knew I'd love this, didn't you?

Judith Ellis said...

Yes, Ajey! I knew you would love this. I don't know the Satriani album. Are you referring to the cover or the content? I'll find both online. Thanks for the mention.
