Being Symbolic

Flanked by a team of outstanding financial advisers and governors of hard-hit states, framed by a series of American flags, President-elect Obama delivered his first news conference since the campaign. For those looking for the President-elect to offer detailed solutions to the current financial crisis, beyond what was said during the campaign, you looked for far too much. While we only have one president at a time, the image signaled presidential confidence and calm. The symbolism was not lost.

I am so happy about his ability to communicate. He may not get all the things done that he sees hope for, but he will tell us what is going on every step of the say, and he will listen to the people. Amen Amen Amen for that. God Bless Barack Obama, and give him the strength for the task that lies ahead.

Cat - Don't you just love it! I loved his "I will move with all deliberate haste." Yes, we are all praying for "stength for the task that lies ahead."

Emphasis on 'deliberate' ;-) Isn't it nice to have a president whose voice you actually want to hear?

Indeed! But I must admit to not having the disdain for President Bush that many seem to have. While I found his colloquialisms funny, I was not one to assail him. I wish God-speed to the President for his service to our country, though on some things he seems to have not gotten right.
