Being Skinny

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," Kate Moss told WWD. She then added "It sounds really corny, but I think that if you're beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure."

If "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," what do you think young women and girls, even older ones, will strive for? What is the real message here? The article in WWD is entitled, "Kate Moss: The Waif that Roared."

That's not a good message for young girls at all. We don't need supermodels encouraging our young girls to starve themselves. The media can do such damage to a young girl's developing self-esteem. I wish our world still didn't emphasize the superficial over the spiritual. It's hard enough for a young girl to figure out her place without insensitive public figures telling her that she has to be skinny.

I have to strongly disagree with Ms. Moss. (I can't wait to see those skinny hips when she's 50 and has had a few kids!) My Mama's banana pudding tastes waaaaay better than skinny EVER felt! LOL!

What gets my goat, Judith, is when those stupid designers digitally alter already skinny models to make them look thinner. Women out there are trying to achieve a body image that is totally IMAGINARY! Thanks for touching on his important issue. Blessings!

I agree, Kelly.

Yes, Marion, it is so very sad that young people try to live up to those digitally altered images. It's really very sad indeed.

Oh, and, Marion, your Mama's banana pudding line was so very delicious! :-)

Man, now I am thinking of my banana cream pie...

People who get joy out of skinny often don't have much else. It is nice to be a normal size - but that has a lot of variety

AND, I have never had anything better than chocolate - skinny or otherwise

Meh, not a good message for the youngsters who are increasingly becoming obsessive about being skinny.

Beauty radiates from within as it is the light of the heart. It is not physical!

Meena - I love your comment. It's good to see you. I hope all is well.

Ajey - I agree. I would just add "only" at the end, as beauty is also physical. I marvel, for example, at wild flowers and then I'm amazed at how they subsist in the harshest of weather without attendance.
