Being a Bridge

"I am where I am because of the bridges that I crossed. Sojourner Truth was a bridge. Harriet Tubman was a bridge. Ida B. Wells was a bridge. Madame C. J. Walker was a bridge. Fannie Lou Hamer was a bridge."

--Oprah Winfrey

Let's be a bridge for others. Others have been a bridge for us.

Oprah really knows how to say it just right. I can use this quote to think of how I can extend myself like a bridge to make something real happen. Too often we're bystanders.

Kelly - I so agree that "too often we're bystanders." But we can do small things that matter. This too provides a bridge that makes a difference for others.

Not only do I thank God for the bridges Oprah named but also the unknown and unnamed bridges in my life. I pray I am a bridge for those coming behind me and an hand for someone to hold on to while we cross.

Pam - I do believe that you will be such a bridge. Blessings!
