Being Non-News
Even what Fox News says is news isn't. Jon Stewart breaks it down. This is funny but right on. Stewart also lets an Obama administration official have it too and rightfully so.
What a hoot! If Fox and all the other networks would put their energies into some constructive reporting toward solutions to our countries REAL problems, then they might be worth watching. It's always been a pet peeve of mine when the newscasters make themselves part of stories or even the stories themselves. Fox is acting like a spurned lover. LOL! Oh, for the good old days when they reported just news and facts! I miss Walter Cronkite. When we were kids we couldn't make a peep when "the news" was on. (That makes me sound old, but hey, if the shoe fits.) Great post, Judith! Blessings!
Marion - Isn't that the truth? We used to watch Walter Cronkite with great reverance too. Ah, the memories. (No worries. Cronkite was on for many years. :-)) When we watched Bryan Gumble and Jane Pauley in the morning we were able to talk as we got ready for school, but we were also asked what we caught if anything even on that show. I agree that the networks in general are in pretty bad shape and I basically do not watch any of them for extended periods. But I hardly ever watch Fox because of the meanness, opinions, fearmongering and dishonesty that are included in their reporting.
As far as Vallary Jarret goes, what is supposed to say when asked if MSNBC is biased? Any answer she gives would be critisized. If she said it was biasesd(which it is) the clip would be played on Fox over and over. And she is not a hatefull person at her core. Here's an article from Krugman that discusses the danger of the right.
Good point about Jarrett, Zorro. Although MSNBC may be liberal leaning, I don't get the impression that they are as unfair and hateful as what I have seen on Fox. Thanks for the Krugman article. I'll check it out.
