Being Passionate about Busting Loose

What are you passionate about? Do you feel like Busting Loose? You can do it! Do your thing whatever it is. But the lyrics offer wise advice in its opening: "Keep what you got until you get what you need y'all." Bustin' loose effectively requires both wisdom and passion. Although, sometimes straight up busting loose from hindering restraints is also necessary. Whatever you do bust loose!

Busting Loose

Keep what you got
Until you get what
You need y'all

You got to give a lot
Just to get what
You need sometimes y'all

Gimme the bridge now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose
Gimme the bridge now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose now

Busting loose in the evening
Busting loose can be pleasing
Talking bout busting loose

Busting loose in the meantime
Busting loose makes you feel fine
Talking bout busting loose

Busting loose to my love jones
Busting loose to each his own
Talking bout busting loose y'all

Busting loose to my love jones
Busting loose to each his own
Gimme the bridge y'all

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose now

Gimme the bridge y'all

I feel like busting loose
Gimme the bridge now
Gimme the bridge now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose

I said sha la, come on
Y'all said (put your money down)
I said, sha la, get it
Y'all said (put your money down)
I said sha la, come on
Y'all said (put your money down)
I said sha la, hit it
Y'all said (put your money down)
Gimme the bridge now

Now I feel like busting loose
Give me the bridge, y'all
Give me the bridge, y'all now

Now I feel like busting loose
Busting loose now

Busting loose when you want to deal
Busting loose doing what you feel
Talking bout busting loose, girl

Busting loose when you want to deal
Busting loose doing what you feel
Talking bout busting loose now

Busting loose when you want to sing
Busting loose, baby, do your thing
Talking bout busting loose, girl

Busting loose when you want to sing
Busting loose, baby, do your thing
Give me the bridge, y'all

Give me the bridge, y'all
Give me the bridge now now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose now

Get, get, get, get, get, get on down
(Get, get, get, get, get, get on down)
Get, get, get, get, get, get on down
(Get, get, get, get, get, get on down)
Get, get, get, get, get, get on up, y'all
(Get, get, get, get, get, get on down)

I feel like busting loose
Give me the bridge now
Give me the bridge now now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose now

I feel like busting loose
Busting loose, y'all

Freak, freak-a-deek (5x)
Ah, freak, y'all
Freak, freak-a-deek (2x)
Ah, freak now
Freak, freak-a-deek (3x)
Ah, freak now
Freak, freak-a-deek (6x)
Oh, I like that part there now

Freak, freak-a-deek (4x)
What's that new dance
Y'all doing there
Freak, freak-a-deek (10x)
God Almighty

Freak, freak-a-deek (4x)
Oh, go on now
Freak, freak-a-deek
Freak, freak-a-deek

Hey, Leroy, give me some
Of that horn right here
Sound a little horn
Well, well

Got to do it again
So you got to do it again
Hey, hey
Give me some of that
Good Lord, hit it

I needed this kind of anthem today. Lately, I ask myself often, "How do I reinvent myself?" I really don't know the answer yet. It will be fun to bust loose one of these days. Love the song and thanks so much for the lyrics. I liked singing along:)

Yes, Kelly, it is about re-inventing ourselves isn't it? It's about stepping out and taking risks, isn't it? What I would say most is follow your heart. What do you lost doing most? I know you are a mom and that's probably your number one job. But there are undoubtedly ways of busting loose in that role too.

My mother busted loose her entire life and she had 12 kids! She was always taking a class, writing poetry and songs, and involved in a myriad of church activities which required her time. She was a brilliant Sunday School teacher and over the Women's Department of our large church. We were our mom's life but she did not make us feel as if we were all she had. There is a difference, wouldn't you say?

Glad you loved singing along. So, do I. It's also very difficult not to pump it up and funk to it! :-)

Gotta love it, girl! "Hey, Leroy, give me some of that horn." Hell yeah! And what about those bongos? Ooooooh, yeah! "Baby, do your thing! Get get get get get, get on down!" Woooo!!!

His song "Just Got Paid"...been using it for a while. My class and I "bust loose" dancing whenever things start to drag. First payday Fridays always...usually a mid week Wednesday. Most of these folks aren't familar with music from the days when folks actually played instruments...Tower of Power, Miami Sound Machine, Thelma Houston, Four Tops are some favorites. It's part of my "Big Poppa" personna!

LOL, Dave! Got it! I knew the song. I was just trying to relate to the "old" descriptive. But, hey! I got it now for real. How cool is it to get the class rolling in such a way! I'd like to be a class participant. Waaay cool, Dave!

For the readers of this blog: It's funny that I just noticed that the poster of "Bustin Loose" includes my mom's cousin, Richard Pryor. LOL! That was a movie, eh? I missed that one. But as RP had such great timing and skill, I'll check it out. Have any of you seen the movie?

Judith,

I'm 55 by the calandar, look about 93, feel like I'm 529 trying to get moving everyday...but I'm about 22 in outlook and attitude. An open mind and listening can keep you young in spirit.

Beautiful, Dave! Although, you do not look 93! :-)
