Being a Father

On this Father's Day I honor my beloved brother, Timothy Wright Ellis (1961-2007), who was the best father a child could have: strong, compassionate, loving and thoughtful.

He is dearly missed.

Such a lovely, beautiful family. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. The world also lost a good soul as well, apparently.

Ah, so very true, septembermom. Tim was my confidant and dear friend. He had a calm firm demeanor that was easily entreated. When you met him you wanted to share. People loved him. You would have only needed to have met him once to remember him. Tim was truly unforgettable. He had smiling eyes and razor sharp perception. We love him so.

Judith,

What a special and moving way to honor a man and a father. He continues to touch lives through the kindness and actions of his terrifically special sister!

Thanks for sharing this Judith.

Judith,

Sorry for your loss. Although I have just begun getting to know you, you have already been extremely inspiring. Dave's words are very true and sincere. You are an extremely strong person and your ability to inspire following a tough loss solidifies this.

Ryan - Thank you so much for your encouraging words. They too are much appreciated. Peace and love to you.

Yes, we have recently gotten to know each other through blogs and email correspondence, but I sense in you too a passionate and compassionate soul. Your words have also inspired me.
