Being a River

Rivers are bodies of water; they vary in depth, length, energy, tributaries and distributaries as do people; both bodies are the same. Rivers are life.

(This thought was inspired by lyrics written by Ajey Padival. Please pop over to his blog, The odds are good, but the goods are odd, and read them. They're lovely indeed. Ajey is a thoughtful lyricist who writes profoundly about life despite his mere 23 years. I'm a fan of this sensitive insightful talented young man. Continued best, my friend. You're an inspiration.)

There must be something in the air about rivers. I was just at my local Red River Friday! I'll be sure to check out Ajey's writing. It's such a joy to discover a new writer! Thanks for sharing, Judith.

PS: One of my favorite quotes is: "You can never step into the same river twice," by Heraclitus.

Thanks, Linda. Yes, our young friend, Ajey, is "indeed remarkable as well as mature for his years."

Marion - Loved the Heraclitus quote. Thanks! I am happy to introduce you to Ajey's work. I think you will appreciate his work. Sometimes it's incredibly dark and painful, but that too is a part of life. As an artist especially, such expression is necessary. He's a "remarkable" young man indeed.

Wow, I was JUST thinking of the Heraclitus quote when I read the post.

(Of course, given the evanescent "stream" of reality around us, you can't even step into the same river once.)

Beautiful, John! And it's waaay cool that you were JUST thinking of the quote.

Oh! Aww! I am speechless, frankly! Umm, "i" inspiring "YOU" to write this post. It is good to know that I too am an inspiration.

I love that line, "Rivers are life". And, it is nice to know you felt felt my song's true essence.

Thanks a lot!!!
