Being is the essence out of which all things evolve. This blog is an ongoing conversation of being in various facets and areas of life, including the personal and the professional from which relationships of all kinds are formed and teams built in all communities, virtual or real, at home, at work, in politics and at play.
CJ - I consider myself a rather compassionate person, but I must admit to having very little compassion for this woman who plays, winks and nods constantly and puts her children on front street for political game and then hides behind impropriety when the game is not favorable to her. I agree that Letterman might have crossed the line, but her response was equally as bad. He is not running for the presidency. She continues to do so. What a joke she continues to be for women everywhere, not to mention her hypocrisy is appalling.
If anyone made a joke about one of my daughters, I'd react similar to the way she did. No, I wouldn't be as nice as she was. There's no reason for a rich old man like Letterman to be making jokes about anyone's 14 year old daughter. Make jokes about adults, not children...
Yes, Marion, I suppose I understand the whole mother instinct thing and all. But we are not here about any mother. We are talking about Sarah Palin who has put her children out there for political gain and celebrity time and time again.
Palin seeks to hold high office and her response to Letterman was as wholly irresponsible as his, especially considering the position she desires. Not only did she call him a child pervert and child molester, whom no one believes, she insinuated that her daughter would actually become violent toward Letterman. Is this the kind of trash talk we want from a president? Is the kind of level-headed response that we want in this very tumultuous time?
We are also talking here about her 18 year-old daughter, and not the the 14 year-old one, had gotten pregnant out of wedlock and is now on a tour preaching abstinence after telling Great van Sustern on Fox that it was not "realistic" having perhaps conceived the child under the righteous roof of her mom who lost the election because there was no one in the McCain camp "that would pray with her."
From what I gather Letterman is going to offer a sincere apology for the jokes about Palin's daughters. I think that this is good as they were in bad taste. But it does not excuse Sarah Palin in the very least for her response. Let's hope that she will now BE a class act and graciously accept the apology. I personally would that she would go back to Alaska and not be seen or heard. Every time she opens her mouth it's just so incredibly embarassing.

Short and sad to the point I think

Linda - I'm sorry to say that I just have no more words to describe her.
Short and sweet here Judith : )
I felt compassion for her when people were bashing her daughters in the media.
One may have a problem with a person (or personality). I believe it's triflin' big time to bring next of kin into it, esp. if they are kids.
I think Sarah's a nice lady. I'd have her over for dinner at any time. BUT would I vote for her in 2012? I do think she should keep her day job.
Hecks no!
To clarify...I was referring to the "joke" David Letterman made about her regarding her daughters.

Give me a break! Sarah Palin is a joke!
