Being in the Kingdom of God

"The Kingdom of God is a result of a Godly act."

--Rob Ellis

My brother, Rob, spoke these words a few Sundays ago and they have resonated very deeply. Being results-focused and action-oriented, I have not been able to get them out of my head.

A lot is spoken about the Kingdom of God. But it is simply God's way of doing things. The Kingdom of God is action that produces results. We are in the Kingdom of God by our actions.

Christ prayed, "thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." We are the beings through which the Kingdom of God is forever established on the earth.

Considering our homes, work environments, schools, places of worship, neighborhoods, etc., it is our actions that establish the Kingdom of God, God's way of doing things, in our various surroundings.

The Kingdom of God has come and is forever established through our daily actions unassociated with guilt but embraced by love and settled by His word in heaven.

I agree Judith. In Luke 17:20, 21 Jesus said the kingdom of God was within us----and what's inside you always comes out! Great post!

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, the kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Beautiful parallel scriptures, Marion. Thank you.

"In Luke 17:20, 21 Jesus said the kingdom of God was within us----and what's inside you always comes out!"

Love this!

Christ also said, "It is not what enters the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."

Our words matter for "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks."

Most times I am pretty careful about what comes out of my mouth, seeking first to forever guard my heart. But at other times I fail miserably.

Wow this is a powerful piece Judith. I know I have to do a lot more to live up to the potential God wants me to be. Day by day I hope I get closer to Him. Thanks for this inspirational word.

Happy to say something that inspires, The Write Girl. I think your words here are what many of us seek to do; many seek to live up to our God-given potential. "Seek and you shall find." I wish you all the very best.
