Being Funny X

Here is SNL's take on the recent outburst in Congress. It's pretty funny! There is also a great impression of James Carville here too--spot on.

That was hilarious, Judith, EXCEPT for the dead-on "Mr. Carville" insulting the citizens of my great state. Louisiana catches more hell than any other state and it's really a beautiful, fabulous place to live. Blessings!

It's too funny! But you must ligthen up, Marion, about your home state. It was, after all, a joke. But I feel you. Detroit think it catches "more hell than any other" city in the Union. Neither all of what is said about your state or my hometown is true. But there is often a grain of truth even in the ugliest untruth. Many times good jokes are exaggerations of the truth. South Carolinians and Mississppians must be saying the same of this video, eh? :-)

For sure. I have a good friend in South Carolina and she's so touchy it's scary. Her aunt was in a book store with her and picked up a copy of the book by Thomas Merten entitled, "Soul Mates" and her aunt said, "Look, our governor wrote a book!!!" She said she cringed and acted like she didn't know her aunt. LOL! I guess we all get a turn in the game of life. Blessings!!

ROFL, Marion. Good story!!! I mean, Detroit has had its share of colorful and criminal mayors, some good ones too I worked for one, but to have Sanford, DeMint, and Wilson all from one state is like...WOW! A friend's sister has lived there for years in a prominent government position. She's an ultra conservative and she must be embarrassed to now say that South Carolina is the state where she raised her children. She has one in high school and the other in college there.

Judith,

"You ain't tall midget, you just clever"...

Living in Little Rock during the first Clinton campaign was a terrifically interesting time. Mr. Carville is a person I respect and admire a great deal, not his political views, but for his his loyalty and veracity. The movie "The War Room" shows a side of both him and George Stephanopoulos that show the convictions and passion both had for the work they were doing.

As for the most "abused" state...it's tough to beat Arkansas. After all, it appears the "toothbrush" was named after the folks in this state...alledgedly!

So, what's wrong with Carville's politics? :-) The "War Room" was great for the reasons you mentioned. I like Carville, save that fact the he and Begala are just so in LOVE with the Clintons. The former President and Secretary of State, who I admire, seem to be able to do no wrong in their eyes. WOW! What loyalty!

Regarding Arkansas, I didn't know that about the toothbrush, but that's not so bad. Just imagine where we'd be without that. Then again, Dave, you can always claim beautiful northern California.

As you know, I lived in San Fransico and loved it! Although, it became a bit too small for my taste after a while. I then moved to New York! Talk about WOW! I love that city! I think I'll move back. It feeds my various passions with neccessary jaunts to the coast.
