Being a Pedophile

Michael Jackson was called a pedophile although vehemently denying it and having never been found guilty of such. Roman Polanski admitted to a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl when he was 46 years old and I have yet to hear someone call him a pedophile. Is there a double standard here?

Right on target with that observation, Judith! It makes you wonder...

It is disturbing that it has taken this long to address this wrong.

Kelly - A friend mentioned this today and I couldn't help but to think of the truthfulness of it.

Corrie - It's not like we did know where he was. This is why my recent post was entitled "Being a Fugitive, Sort Of." If the Swiss grants him bail this will not be good. He fled to France the first time.

Double standard yes!

Roman Planski appears on the outward to be quite normal. However, people judged and ridiculed Michael for years and some still do.

This man no matter what his artistic contributions may have been needs to be held accountable for his actions.

YES!

Frankly, I'm amazed it took them this long to capture him. Was he in France this entire time that they couldn't do it before? Surely at some point he must have left that country.

But, yet, we have our own Woody Allen who did an equally despicable thing and yet was not forced to flee the country merely because she was of age. And, let's add incest to the equation even though she was not his blood daughter, but daughter nonetheless. Still revolting no matter which way you look at it. Since then I haven't been able to watch another one of his films. Which reminds me of the latest Mackenzie Phillips allegation. What is going on here? !!

Yes, I was saddened by the Woody Allen situation, especially for Mia Farrow and her other children when those photos came out. The Phillips' allegation is incredibly sad as well.

Okay the list is growing. I understand Morgan Freeman is marrying his step-grand-daughter.

I was not a fan of Woody Allen but after hearing that never bothered with him.

I stick to my original comment. Acountability!! I would say that even if Michael was guilty.

As we can see with the Phillip's allegations the pain runs deep.

I also think with some of these cases the more celebrity the person has the less likely their victims come forth. It is almost inconceivable to believe Phillip's father did that to her. And also with this man as well. We in society place celebrity in a seperate category in so many areas.

Having said that it is sad when people take advantage of someone because of their celebrity.

I noted that they seemed to be really lenient on Polanski...I didn't pick up on the Jackson link. You're right. That's a big discrepancy.

Underage or relative, doesn't matter, they should all pay for what they've done. Every single one of them.

Come on now, Pam. You're making that up, right? So, he was married to her mother? Did he help to raise her? I feel terrible for the mother. She must feel as if she has made a terrible mistake in marrying Freeman if what you say is true. Sometimes what we read is not true. I hope this isn't. Parents better be sure about who their kids are looking up to, eh?

Bri - It's good to have you here. You are so incredibly talented. Many blessing to you, beautiful one.

Rebecca - I'm totally with you.
