Being an Ex-Convict

Former Congressman, James Traficant (D-OH), was released from federal prison today after serving seven years for racketeering, accepting bribes from businessmen and taking kickbacks from staff members. I hope this has been a warning for all seated congresspersons. Now, we need to reform campaign financing which seems criminal. Mr. Traficant has served his time and I wish him well. I really do. But I do wonder if he's gotten a haircut--a crew cut, perhaps? I know...I know...I'm on a roll. But when I saw this photo today I must admit to rolling laughing. God, help me!

His prison time must have been a "hair raising" experience! Judith, I couldn't resist :)

No the former congressman did not get a hair cut, but he came out sporting a ponytail, yes, a pony tail. Prison reform????

Oh, you guys are cracking me up, Pam. "Prison reform ????" LOL! You're from Ohio, eh? How was the reception at home? I do wish him well.

It's good to know our tax dollars are not being wasted on prison barbers!! Thanks for the chuckle, Ms. Thang!!! Blessings!

Marion - That is such a good one!
Thank you for that! LOL! Miss Thang? Now, that's a throwback. :-)

Yes Jude, I live in Ohio, but I'm not a native (military transplant); therefore, I don't claim the bad and ugliness about this state--so I don't claim him. And apparently they--Ohio-ians don't claim him either. There hasn't been much mention locally of him being released.

Maybe his redemption could have begun with a nice hair cut. And then of course an admittance and apology for accepting kick backs and bribes.

Pam - Isn't it utterly amazing the arrogance of some people? I agree that an apology would be healing for both him and the people of Ohio. But I must confess to despising Ohio as I'm a Michigan grad and a die-hard Wolverine. Oh, and yes, that hair cut would have been good too. :-)
