Being a True Leader

"You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them and there great ones exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many."

I am glad that you have passed through, Rolfe. Your art work is quite original and interesting. Gustav Klimt is one of my favorite painters and one of your paintings puts me in the mind of him. Then there are others that are so unique. I like the personification on inanimate objects in your work and the blending of drawing and painting. Glad to have found it. The images of skulls and the connection of the brain are also fascinating. Check him out bloggers. Many blessings, Rolfe.

Would that our leaders in Congress took these words to heart. If we consider in this regard what a true leader really is, I wonder how many of us can say that we are truly leaders. Leadership is not about a designed or structured platform; it’s about serving wherever you are.

I think of Jesus washing the feet of His apostles at the Last Supper. Our Lord does call us to serve. Wonderful quote to always remember.

Dearest Kelly - Thank you for that sweet memory. It is a beautiful one. It is here also that Peter said "You shall never wash my feet!" to which Jesus replied, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me." This is the reciprocity of love. Another beautiful example is the woman who washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair after entering a house from undoubtedly a long walking journey and no water was offered for His feet. This was great love this woman showed. Oh, if we had this kind of love and servant attitude toward one another regardless of religious affiliation or political persuasion what a difference this would make.
