Being on Message II

In his State of the Union address President Obama made news to me. His administration has not raised taxes "on one single person."
Let me repeat: we cut taxes. We cut taxes for 95% of working families. We cut taxes for small businesses. We cut taxes for parents trying to care for their children. We cut taxes for 8 million Americans paying for college. As a result, millions of Americans had more to spend on gas, and food, and other necessities, all of which helped businesses keep more workers. And we haven't raised income taxes by a single dime on a single person. Not a single dime.
Republicans did not even clap for what they supposedly believe in more than anything else: tax cuts.

I doubt if the Republicans would applaud even if Obama said he was changing his party. As usual, they listen, but they don't hear.

Another show of support from Arianna.
Note how she plugs her 'move your money'
at the end.
With friends like Arianna, Obama needs no enemies.

Zorro - For me, President Obama's SOTU address was great! I very much appreciated the message and tone. The details were also appreciated. He said many things that I wanted to hear. Of course, he has to lead effectively and we must help him do so.

Regarding opposition, this will happen from all sides but it need not necessarily be a negative. I will read Arianna's post. I have not done so as of yet. Speaking of Move Your Money, my brother who is an investment banker with a Wall Street firm supports Geithner and Bernanke. He does not support moving your money. There's no surprise there, eh? :-)

I'll speak to my brother later on today and probably have more to say later. He's an incredibly bright man.

Hallloooo there Judith! It's been awhile since I've come visit. Sad to say, I did not catch Obama's SOTU because I ended up falling asleep right before it! Two nights of non-sleep will do that to you!

Today, I will read the synopsis and read what everyone has to say. The only thing I can say is that I am hearing a lot of negativity about Obama (and this is coming from his own voters) because he has neglected to part the waters. Listen, the man inherited a hornet's nest of problems. I doubt anyone could have done a better job so far. He is doing the best he can under the circumstances he is in. I may no longer be in the majority, but this I believe. I knew the idolatry that followed his election would be met with much criticism later on down the road because the higher we place a man, the harder he will fall. He is a man, folks. Just a man. Trying to do the very best he can. Check your idolatry and such at the door and let's look at this realistically and for what it really is.

Okay, I'll get off the pulpit now!LOL!

Hi Rebecca! It's good to have you. I have missed your voice. I agree largely with your statement and support President Obama, although I do question the choices with regards to Geithner, Summers and Bernanke. I do not seek by any means to tear him down and fully understand that we all have a role to play in our democracy. I agree that there is by far too many seemingly personal attacks from his own party. You can disagree without consistent frontal attacks and continual disdain when a decision is not met with your approval. This is for certain: I thank God EVERY DAY that McCain and Palin are not in the White House and I don't see a Republican candidate that would get my vote in 2012. President Obama is my kind of leader: thoughtful, compassionate and discipline. I hope all is well with you.
