Being a Smiler II

Today a wonderful new friend forwarded me an email from "Bruno's Minute," entitled, "You Have the Power!" It made me smile.

"We all have incredible power but often don't realize it. I am talking about our SMILE power. Want to see if you have it? Next time you meet someone with a crabby face, smile and watch how he changes. Or when you're in an elevator with people you don't know, smile, say something friendly, and watch everyone's mood lighten up. But why should we use this special gift? Well, that one is easy. It's our responsibility to make other people feel good if we can. And smiling is one of the best ways to do so."

"You can never give away a smile; it always comes back."

So, simply smile. It matters. Smiling has power!

Hmmmmmm - I wish I smiled more... There is a certain release that comes with smiling... I used to be a huge smiler as a child... Thanks for the reminder!

It is so true. I read an article or something somewhere that explained that our facial expressions can actually affect our emotions and how we feel inside.

Most are taught that the outside reflects the inside. However some study showed that it could go the other way.

CathM, my friend, just do it! Smile! I'm sending a smile to you right now. Got it?

Meena - I think I also read some study or article that indicated the same thing. What I have found is that even when I don't feel like smiling, when I smile anyway I feel so much better. It's like when your face smiles your heart does too. Try it now. Doesn't it? Your heart opens up. No?

All of my life I have been a rather positive and upbeat person, but there have been times that I have had to find a reason to smile. This wasn't hard, as there is ALWAYS something to smile about.

Smiling has so much power it is amazing. It is insane the potential to open people up to actually listen to you and brighten their day up a bit. A funny social experiment is to smile at every person who walks by you and you can always grow on this and start saying hi with a smile. You'd be surprised how it can change your day.
I think there is a good TEDTalks on this.

I like your process, William. This sounds like a TED Talk for sure. You gotta love 'em, eh? I have posted one here with the brilliant physicist, Stephen Hawking.

lol @ William. I have done that at work before to see if I could get everyone a little happier, and it works.
