Being Archbishop Fulton Sheen

"Believe the impossible and you can do the incredible."

Archbishop Fulton Sheen has long be a favorite of mine for his practicality and erudition. He's also quite witty.

I hope you will listen to the very end; there is a powerful message there on human divinity.

Hey Judith, I grew up watching Archbishop Sheen on TV - as did most of the Catholics I knew in the 50s. He used to draw an audience of over 4 million of us. What a blast from the past. I used to quote him all the time when I was a know-it-all proselytizer for Catholicism at the age of 12. That went over big in my non-Catholic neighborhood. :-)

I had no knowledge of Archbishop Sheen until some years ago. It does not surprise me that he drew such crowds, even during the 50's, having a bit more flare than many other Archbishops I would imagine. He's practical, knowledgeable, and likeable.

What a brave youngster you were! :-)

Human divinity - a marvelous
goal to reach for. I must listen
to all of this, as soon as my
own computer is up again.

Yes, indeed! But I am not sure if it's a goal to be attained or something to be embraced.
