Being Merciful

"Mercy triumphs over judgement."

-- James 2:13

Today, in spite of what we know, feel, or think of others, let's show mercy instead of judgement. Somebody needs mercy today.

Judith,
so true!! We are more than happy to pass judgment even when we expect mercy for ourselves. Not just mercy, but some acceptance would be nice as well.

Meena - You are right on. The whole scripture reads:

"For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment."

Thank you for your words. Acceptance is nice, indeed.

So true, indeed as Meena says so
brilliantly, we tend to want
justice and forgiveness for ourselves but forget the other
fellow. One bible passage that
always stands out for me is:
The letter of the law kills.

...but the Spirit makes alive." Thanks for that one, Cynthia.

Wow,
I didn't realize that was the rest of the scripture. But, it doesn't surprise me as our religious texts are similar.

But I must admit, it is awful hard to forgive.

Yes, Meena, sometimes it is very difficult to forgive. But if we don't do for anyone else we should do it for ourselves. And, yes, our religious texts are similiar indeed.
