Being Grateful

Sometimes we have more than what we think we have.

Let's think about what we have; that will get us more readily to what we want to have. What do you have to work with?

Isn't Nina Simone awesome? And what about that hair and those earrings?!!

I love Nina Simone but I'd never heard this song. It's amazing, awesome and life-affirming. It made me want to cry, then laugh. I wish I had the guts to wear my hair that crazy and earrings that big. She totally rocks! LOL! Thanks for sharing this, Judith. Blessings!

Gotta love 'em, Corrie!

Marion - I think I probably have everything she's ever recorded. This is a great song! I'll post others too. Her music is great and her lyrics can be quite intense.

I love a song that "separates the clouds" and opens up my heart and mind. Thank you so much for sharing this video, Judith! I wish I could have such a cool hairstyle :)

RIP Nina.

Only saw her once, later in life. I think it was Bet on Jazz--boy do I miss that channel!

She was singing Paul McCartney's "Long and Winding Road." (the song me, Cynthia and Karla were singing on the last night of the Bridge Program in the Bernhard Center.) Indeed a favourite memory of Dr. Simone.

Oh, make that the Michigan Student Union, not the Bernhard Center. The Bernhard Center's at Western in Kalamazoo--the Union's in Ann Arbor.
