Being in "Plantation Politics"

Representative Bobbie Rush has drug up racist politics asserting that the Senate will be playing "plantation politics" if Burris is not seated in the Senate. This is one of the most ridiculous statements that I have heard lately. A USA Poll taken today across all racial divides supports Senate leadership in blocking Burris 2 to 1.

27% Seat Burris
51% Don't Seat Burris

Representative Rush should be ashamed of himself for using race in such a divisive manner and aligning it with historical issues of great national significance and import. On a national television show he compared the blocking of Burris to "standing in the doorway of school children" such as the Little Rock Nine in 1957.

Representative Rush is becoming a disgrace and he should simply not speak if he's going to spout such things. He's becoming increasingly embarrassing the more he speaks. This is not about race; it's about the disgraced Governor Blagojevich caught on tape in an obvious pay to play scheme who has chosen Burris for the Sentate.

While I do not support the seating of Burris, I think he may be seated.

Goodness I can't keep up with you! You post so quickly!!! Thanks for the New Year wish. Hope you had a Happy New year as well. I know this might sound a bit strange, but would you mind if I had your email address? May sound a bit crazy (although I hope it doesn't), but you fascinate me (and I don't mean that in a creepy way). I just think we have a lot in common and I'd love to be able to talk to you a bit. If not, that is completely fine. However, if you don't mind, you can reach me at peanutbutterbound@yahoo.com. I hope to hear from you soon!

Being prolific has always been a trait of mine since childhood. I must also say that as a child I had to be very careful, as I was very sensitive to others and my surroundings and would readily place foot in mouth. :-) My precociousness in class and Sunday School, even among my older siblings, did not always fair well.

Thank God we grow up and are better able to cope with knowledge that come from the ethers and others too. Learning and listening are gifts from God that we ourselves cultivate. Wisdom is ours for the asking; knowledge is ours for the receiving.

I hope that others do not feel that they have to keep up with my writing. I may not be able to slow down. But do pop in every now and then (more often than not :-)) and leave your comment which inspire me to keep on keepin' on; comments also broaden my horizon. We are helpers one to another.

Regarding contacting me via email, please feel free to do so. I will email you shortly and we can stay in touch in that way too. You are lovely, Rhi, and it will be my pleasure to chat more with you directly.

Are you back in school now? I hope you had a great break.
