Being Democratic

You'd be surprised who isn't registered to vote. In some states tomorrow, October 4th, is the last day to register to vote. Listen up:

Pass it on and on to young people and not so young people too. Like I said, you'd be surprised who isn't registered to vote.

Be democratic! Vote!

Awesome!
See, in Italy we don't need to register at all. We are enlisted by default and we receive the voting certificates as soon as we turn 18.
If you don't vote here, which is always your choice, you might get banned from certain government jobs, public administration, etc.
It is never been enforced really, but in our constitution, voting is a right/duty of a citizen. It is a kind of responsibility you must exercise.
Do vote! it is one of the few times when we can make the difference.

Yeah! I thought it was pretty awesome too! I loved the whole reverse psychology thing at the beginning to get young and not so young people out to register AND THEN vote. Lethargy is a hard thing to combat. But it seem that we are quite energetic now. We, of course, have to keep it going until the 4th!

I have spent months at a time in Italy and it is one of my favorite places. When I went there for the first time in college my friend and I just went from city to city. It was great! When she left I remained traveling alone, meeting tons fo wonderful people who welcomed me into their homes. They would call their friends in another city in advance and I would meet up with them there. I didn't have to stay in youth hostels my last week in Italy. Great people! Great food! :-)

It is good that with age comes the responsibility to participate in the governing of one's country. It's a good thing...indeed. As it is not obligatory in my country and as there are not such policies that may encourage us to vote, pass this video on to all of your American friends. Today is that last day to register to vote in some states.

And...love to you, -a-c-, from this side of the ocean
