Being Rafael Nadal

Bravo to Rafael Nadal on his awesome win over Roger Federer in the Australian Open. Nadal's kind words when Federer broke down when speaking of his loss in this thrilling match bespeaks a true champion.

"Sorry for today," he said to Federer. "I know how you're feeling right now. It's really tough. But remember you are a great champion, you are one of the best in history and you're going to improve the 14 of Sampras."

Bravissimo to Nadal! This Spaniard has character and is a great champion and competitor!

Judith,

What a class act. I too am a tennis fan and never thought I would see a rivalry that surpassed Connors and McEnroe. Nadal and Federer may not have the personalities of Jimmy and John, but the quality of their play is every bit as spectacular!

Agreed, Dave! I actually felt a bit tender for Federer. Although he is an extraordinary player, I have never been a fan. By the way, I think Nadal has plenty of personality.

Perhaps McEnroe had too much personality. I have never really liked him either and I'm not particularly in to him as a commentator either. I'm a Conners and Borg fan.
